Superimposium

I opening a new craft store on Etsy with my collage creations. I called it Sandritocat's Superimposium. I came up with that word as a cross between superimpose ~which means to lay or place (something) on or over something else (collage) and an Emporium. I've fallen in love with ACEO's. ♥ What is an ACEO? ♥ ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions & Originals".

New Listings

I'm so excited about all my new pattern listing, I'm not sure which one to write about. Since Prom is so near, I'll show off these two lovelies.

The Science Spectrum Lubbock, Texas

We went to The Science Spectrum and saw Dinosaurs Alive at the Omni Theaters and Bigger than t Rex Exhibit. Noah is learning about Dinosaurs in school so he was able to tell us all about each one!
We tried to eat at an Applebee's but after waiting 30 minutes ( I kid you not) we decided to leave< and they were NOT busy! We were all so excited to eat there after not living near one in seven years and we were all so disappointed.

Lingerie Box

I just finished my second Collage/Mixed Media Box. My first one was made with vintage pattern pieces that I have collected over the years, missing pieces and missing envelopes etc. , but I wasn't happy with the way it turned out, so I'll keep it. This one turned out lovely. I have many vintage lingerie advertisements that I love and I thought others may love as well. This would be perfect to hold your vintage lingerie.

Prom Season is Upon us!

This is the prom dress my 15 year old step-daughter got for here first prom. She got it from JCPenney's. I think it was about $100. Here first boyfriend is a junior and he asked her and even though her prom is March 29th, I think a lot of others are in May. You'd still have plenty time to make your prom dress out of some great vintage material and here is the perfect pattern.

Vintage 50s Simplicity 1701 Toddlers WHIRLING FULL SKIRT PARTY Empire DRESS Sewing Pattern w/ CAPE 3

Easter is this Sunday. Gosh, is it early this year or what. My son is out for Spring Break this week and he didn't even get the full 5 days as "spring break", they counted one as a snow day. When we go to church Sunday, I wonder how many little girls will be dressed in dresses like above? or jeans as a fancy top. This are so different from when I was growing up. View 1 and 2, dress may be worn with or without the brief, matching cover-up cape which is lined with contrasting fabric.

Sea Glass!

I discovered Sea Glass and this artist, ArtisticDetour, by reading the forums. Someone mentioned that they "adore" seaglass and I thought, what is that? Come to find out, that is an excellent adjective to describe my feelings. I want to own some soon. I'm undecided on a cell phone charm or a necklace. I've never worn much jewelry, but give me a timeless cross necklace or one of these beautiful pieces and I'll wear it forever and a day. There is something so calming about this artist's work and her photos. Take a look and see if you agree.

Vintage 50s Mccalls 9776 Girls PARTY Dress with petticoat sewing pattern Size 4

I know Easter is just around the corner, but couldn't you see you little girl in this darlin' dress. I love the big bow tie and the petticoat. So girly!
I don't ever remember wearing a dress like this, my mom dressed me in my sister's hand me downs, but once while going to my Aunt Ellen house for the weekend, who didn't have kids and was a school teacher, my older sister told me to leave our Sunday clothes at home and Aunt Ellen would buy us new clothes. Sure enough she did and I still have the dress she bought for me. I pulled in out of the cedar chest a year ago and my then 5 year old son insisted on trying it on and here is his picture with the dress on. This is going to come in so handy one day! (evil laugh)
